This event has now passed.

Fear of missing art? You’ve come to the right place! Join us on the last Saturday of the month when the Gallery’s Youth Collective presents a kaleidoscope of experiences to engage young people with art and ideas.

FOMArt will feature a range of free events including interviews and talks with art professionals and artists, performances by young musicians, collaborative workshops… and more!

Bring your friends, meet like-minded art lovers and ignite your imagination and creativity.

Casual chats: 1pm – 1:40pm
Location: Entrance court

This month, the Youth Collective invites past recipients of the Gallery’s Studios in Paris scholarship, Eva Breuer Travelling Art Scholarship and Brett Whiteley Travelling Art Scholarship to talk about their experiences as practicing artists in Australia and abroad. Hosted by Youth Collective members, the panel will feature artists Anna McMahon, Elena Papanikolakis and Tom Polo who will speak about their practice and how it has evolved over their career. Find out how they think contemporary art has changed over the past two decades and what issues they believe should be addressed in art today.

Q&A will follow the panel so come along with your burning questions!

Art mash-ups for under 25s: 2pm – 3pm

This program is open to youth participants aged between 15 and 25. Spaces are limited.

Open mic: 3:15pm – 4pm
Location: Cafe

Grab your friends, get a bite to eat and listen to the fresh sounds of talented young local performers at our monthly open mic sessions.

This month, we’ve invited Sydney-based three-piece indie soul trio Clash Palace featuring Isabella Antonievich, Alex Coad and Karl Serna. The three have spent hours jamming, writing and creating sounds with a rich blend of soul, hip hop and R&B. They have performed at popular live music venues across town including the Oxford Art Factory and Lazybones Lounge and have supported local favourites such as DOKO and Kyoshi.

Get a sneak peek of their first single produced by Parliament Studios which is due to be released next month along with their music video.
