A Kilted Queer
They're camp! They're smutty! And they're outrageously quirky!
This event has now passed.
Witness the Rise and Fall of your Average Autistic Poof! Marc Isaac is a Scottish Medico who thinks a little differently...
This is Scottish comedic storytelling at its smuttiest, as we navigate the spectrum, through childhood & medical school and ending up out, proud and autistic working in palliative care and mental health. A queer adventure, that traverses the boundaries of traditional stand-up comedy, and, therefore, sits queerly in the margins, on the fringe. We journey through an exploration of neurodiversity and diagnosis, as experienced by someone who sees medical perspectives, queer perspectives, and chaotically auDHD perspectives, maintaining the optimism of a naive school boy and the cynicism of a perpetual sceptic about everything.
What does it mean to get a diagnosis? Is self-diagnosis enough? What difference would it make? How can I understand myself enough to be able to overcome the challenges that being queer and on the spectrum might bring? Who knows...? And more importantly... Who cares!
We face big questions of life, including sexuality, identity and even mortality, and with a knowing smirk, irreverently dive right in… coming out the other side with multiple bruises, but some great stories!
