MCA Young Creatives: IWD 2021
International Women’s Day 2021
This year’s International Women's Day theme is Choose to Challenge – a call to advocate, a call to action, a chance to engage and agitate!
The MCA invites you to join members of their Young Creatives team at a drop-in and hands-on program, as we reflect on the importance of International Women’s Day in 2021.
Sit down and join the circle as we embroider and add to a collaborative textile piece. The work will spark discussions around what it means to be a young female-identifying person today, interrogating current ideas of feminism, femininity and the female experience.
Members from the Young Creatives team will also facilitate a youth-led panel discussion, running from 1.30–2pm. Hear from the group as they discuss their own experiences of gender and how they understand and navigate identity politics in 2021.
This event is a free drop-in, taking place at the MCA.
About the Young Creatives
MCA Young Creatives encompass both the Young Guides and the Youth Committee, between the ages of 12–21. The Young Creatives engage with the MCA and collaborate with their peers to advocate for young people’s ideas and experiences across the MCA.
