Casula Powerhouse Arts Centre

Casula Powerhouse Arts Centre

Casula Powerhouse is an arts centre in the Southwest of Sydney with a strong connection to its local diverse community.

Funded by almost entirely by Liverpool City Council, Casula Powerhouse has six galleries, two theatres, a restaurant, its own railway station and over two kilometres of riverfront.

The programming aims to draw on the strengths of its community, to make work that speaks to people both locally and globally. With over 140 languages spoken in the local area, they represent their city’s culturally diverse stories.  As both producer and presenter, they highlight the skill and creativity of local residents’ works and high-quality exhibitions, performances and programs from groups outside Liverpool. Helping to grow the creative industry in South West Sydney, they provide opportunities for new, emerging and established artists mainly from this region.

Located on the border between Eora and Darug country, the centre is surrounded by 2 kilometres of wilderness along the banks of the Georges River. With human-made art inside and nature’s beauty outside, there is truly something for everything at Casula Powerhouse.
