Robert Henke (Monolake) & Electric Indigo
For over two decades now, Susanne Kirchmayr (aka Electric Indigo) and Robert Henke (aka Monolake) have shaped electronic music culture in profound ways.
This event has passed.
Henke with his releases as Monolake, his audiovisual installations, his laser performances and as co-author of the seminal music software Ableton Live. As a composer, DJ and producer, Kirchmayr has acted as a role model for women in electronic music since 1989. She is also the founder of the transnational female:pressure network.
Kirchmayr and Henke share a common interest in complex organised sound, large evolving structures and the exploration of space, timbre and dynamics. For their first joint tour in the Southern Hemisphere, they each premiere newly developed performances. Henke’s latest Monolake work is focused around minimalistic polyrhythms and intricate complex sound fields with deep bass and walls of structured noise. Electric Indigo expands the scope of the audio visual, meshing immersive vision with colossal rhythmic structures that encase morphing harmonic fractures, distant colour gradients and cinematic earth shaking eruptions.
Running time: Approximately 2.5 hours, including a 20-minute interval
