Originate 2024

Originate 2024

Join Q Theatre to celebrate the tenth anniversary of their annual hallmark project, Originate.

This event has passed.

When Van, Aisling and Lucy are forced to choose between the lives they dream of or conforming to what’s expected of them, they seek comfort by immersing themselves in the legendary film, Magna Dedito: The Great Surrender. Will the magic of cinema help them to slay their personal demons and seize their destinies? This enchanting, funny and heartfelt production takes you on a theatrical journey across different eras and continents.

Devised and performed by an ensemble of pre-professional and emerging artists from Greater Western Sydney, as part of Q Theatre's six-month theatre training program, don't miss your opportunity to see the next generation of actors showcase their talents live on stage.

Directed by Shy Magsalin. Dramaturg by Rowan Bate. Devised and performed by Stephanie Laarakkers, Josephine Lee, Terence Nguyen and Jony Teperski.

Enhance your theatrical experience – Don’t miss the free post-show Q&A with our Originate 2024 ensemble on Saturday 27 July at 3:30pm. During this exclusive event, the artists will discuss their experiences across our six-month theatre training program, Originate, and provide insight into their process for devising the show. A fantastic opportunity for young and emerging artists interested in pursuing a career in performing arts or taking their theatrical skills to the next level. Bookings essential.

Duration: 75 minutes (No interval plus 15-minute Q&A following the matinee performance).
