Paavali Jumpannen
Finland’s Paavali Jumpannen, “a rare wedding of intellectual penetration, coloristic imagination, and sheer virtuoso firepower,” offers up a program of his signature repertoire, including Sibelius, Chopin, Debussy and Beethoven.
You’re in expert hands with pianist Paavali Jumpannen. In recent years he’s spent many happy hours in the company of Beethoven and Debussy: recording a complete cycle of Beethoven’s sonatas and all of Debussy’s Etudes for piano. Also, Chopin’s iconic ‘Funeral March’ sonata sits alongside some Sibelius miniatures, bringing a touch of Finland to Sydney.
