MCA GENEXT kicks off for 2019 on Sunday 24 March. Join the MCA’s Youth Committee for a night of live music, free snacks, workshops, talks and more, inspired by Australian artist Janet Laurence and her exhibition, After Nature.
GENEXT is a free, all-access, festival-style event that is strictly for high school students aged 12–18 years. Programmed and run by the MCA Youth Committee with support from artist educators and the MCA Young Creatives Coordinator, GENEXT also includes exclusive after-hours entry to all MCA exhibitions.

Drug & alcohol free
GENEXT is a drug and alcohol free event. It is also a parent and teacher-free event that is supervised by MCA staff, gallery hosts and artist educators.
