Capturing everyday existence near war zones
This event has now passed.
Presented by Sydney Writers' Festival
A few kilometres from the battlefield, Ukrainian civilians are attempting to lead ‘normal’ lives.
Since 2018, journalist Alisa Sopova and photographer Anastasia Taylor-Lind’s collaborative project, 5km From the Frontline, has captured everyday existence near the conflict zone, documenting the lives lost or interrupted as the war escalates.
Get dispatches from this extraordinary documentary photography series, which offers a unique, personal and deeply affecting look at the war in Ukraine and its devastating impact on those closest to it.
Hosted by ABC RN’s Hamish Macdonald.
