Do you enjoy a dinner party? CPAC Youth have partnered with Shopfront Arts Co-Op to create ‘Place At The Table’, a food event which bring together watching performance and feasting in a 90 minute banquet lunch experience. During this time you’ll be served dishes from five local restaurants, from five different cultures that really showcase the diversity of South West Sydney. While each dish is served, local young people perform their stories as to why the specific cuisine is important to them and their cultural identity. It will be fun, delicious and a great way to taste your way through South West Sydney.
Angelina – Vietnamese spring roll from Loc Ky in Canley Vale
Vanessa – Itallian Antipasto from Deli Extra at Casula Mall
James Cook High Students – A variety of Turkish foods including Tabouli with Hummus and Babaganoush from Sarah Grill in Casula Mall
Sara – Chilean Empanada from La Paula in Fairfield (cheese and mince option)
Junnade Ali – Naan and Curry from Radio Bombay Casula Mall
Ruby – Lemon Myrtle tart from The Papermill Liverpool
CPAC Youth is hosting 'A Place at the Table' which is a five-course tasting menu for people, all from different places, to celebrate diversity and immerse themselves in the various scrumptious foods and entertainment south-west Sydney has to offer. Combining food and live performances from five different cultures, this multi-sensory experience will have your mouth watering.
CPAC Youth will be teaming up with Shopfront Arts Co-op and students from local South Sydney High Schools who will be showcasing their films as part of the Wave Changers initiative. The Wave Changers initiative invites newly arrived Young People to Sydney the opportunity to foster social connections and explore their creativity by making art.
We encourage people from all walks of life to come along to swap plates and share their stories. Right here, you'll have a place at the table!
