Bangarra Dance Theatre: Terrain
Terrain will be streamed on Thursday May 7, 8pm (AEST) and available until 4 June at this link.
Terrain transports us to Kati Thanda (Lake Eyre) in South Australia, the place of Australia’s inland sea: one of the few untouched natural waterways in the world. Choreographed by Associate Artistic Director Frances Rings, Terrain explores the fundamental connection between Aboriginal people and land – how our land looks after us, how we connect with its spirit, and how we regard its future.
After its world premiere season in 2012, Terrain went on to win two Helpmann Awards for Best Ballet/Dance Work and Best Female Dancer in a Dance or Physical Theatre Work for former senior Bangarra Dancer Deborah Brown. In 2016, Terrain was remounted and opened to 5 star reviews, toured regional Western Australia and South Australia, and continued in Victoria and Tasmania in 2017.
