At the dawn of the next world war, bombs explode in the city, stranding a group of school children on a music excursion. At first, with no adult supervision, their survival is a game, an adventure, but their attempt to govern themselves and create order soon disintegrate into a spiral of bullying and cruelty. As a vision of the apocalypse, Lord of the Flies shows our instinct for power and belonging can override our humanity, and that anyone, however innocent, can fall victim to the beast within.
